International Fan Alliance

Isn't it time for the most important people in the entertainment business to finally have a voice? Yeah, we agree.

Take this quick quiz

1. Ever fall in love with a tv show only to have it cancelled?
2. Ever spend years of your life investing in a show's great characters and storylines only to have terrible writing and a terrible ending ruin it all?
3. Ever get hooked on a book series and have to wait forever for the next in the series... only to have it never be released?
4. Ever fall in love with a movie, and then realize all the sequels were absolutely terrible?
5. Ever feel like the musicians you love have abandoned you?
6. Ever feel like the team you're rooting for doesn't really care about you?
7. Ever want a tv show to come back to life?
8. Ever feel like you, as a fan, have zero voice to address these issues?
EVER WISH YOU COULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT?

LET'S CHANGE THE ENTERTAINMENT WORLD. TOGETHER.

The International Fan Alliance, Inc. (IFA) is organized for social welfare purposes under section 501 (c) (4)(pending), of the Internal Revenue Code to represent the interests of entertainment fans worldwide, as follows:• The IFA represents the rights of all types of fans worldwide, from tv fans, movie fans, and music fans, to sports fans, novelist fans, and YouTube fans. If something's got a legit following, then the IFA legitimately has your back;• The IFA helps ensure that entertainment is planned and created with fans in mind, and never as an afterthought;• The IFA helps ensure that the producers, business executives, entertainers, and artists who create entertainment treat their fans worldwide with respect, and to remind them that the fans are the ones who make possible their enviable livelihood and often lavish lifestyle;• The IFA helps ensures that fans worldwide are treated as the valuable players they are in the entertainment industry, and are afforded the respect, courtesy, and voice they deserve; and• The IFA helps ensure entertainment projects get finished, have proper finales, and/or get reshot/re-recorded/re-designed/re-created if enough fans believe the powers that be let them down. While the IFA recognizes the business interests of producers, and the desire of performers and entertainers for creative control, these players in the worlds of show business, sports, and entertainment should also recognize the critical role fans play in their success. As such, our mission is to ensure that fans are afforded the respect they deserve by entertainment creators of all types, to include investors, producers, directors, performers (to include athletes), game designers, crew, and any and all others who participate directly or indirectly in the creation of entertainment to include the companies that employ them

HOW DOES IT WORK?

All important players in the entertainment industry have a team of agents, lawyers, unions, managers, and publicists fighting for their rights. Well, everyone except the fans.Well, the IFA is now here to represent you. And to fight for your rights. How can we possibly do this? The answer is three-fold: strength in numbers, the door-opening power of money, and... your vote.First, the more fans who become paid members of the IFA, the more important our collective voice will become.Second, the more fans who become paid members of the IFA, the more money we will have in our coffers to start opening doors to interesting conversations with producers, production companies, writers, directors, etc.Third, it is YOUR voice that we are representing. This means that yes, you will have a vote on how the money is eventually used. The long term vision? Our plan is to recruit so many members and amass so much money in our bank account that we can help shape the future of the entertainment business--with a focus on the rights of the fans. We could help finance finales, convince producers to reshoot, motivate writers to finish their books, get sports teams to hold more games, inspire a comedian to do another world tour, and bring dead projects back to life. Why would we be able to do this? Why would people give up 'creative control' simply because of what the IFA wants? Because first, money talks, and if we are helping to finance productions, we will have a say. But more importantly, that money would be backed up by 'the will of the people', representing the fan base that made the franchise or artist a success in the first place. The 'powers that be' would be foolish to ignore us.Regarding 'giving up creative control', consider this: with a movie, there is often the producer's cut, and that is what ends up in theaters. It's not the director's cut. So much for the 'creative control' argument--directors often have less control than you think.OK, so what about the fan cut? That should be the version that ends up in theaters, right? Why should the producers have all the say when it's the fans who made their job possible? Will it be easy for us to convince the producers and directors to give up creative control? No, nothing worth doing is ever easy at first. But... it's important enough of an issue to try. And together, we can do it. And like other trailblazers throughout the millennia, when we succeed, and change the entertainment business forever, future generations will stand on our shoulders and thank us for the service we--the fans--have provided to the world.Bottom line: through the International Fan Alliance, you finally have a voice. You finally have a seat at the table. With your paid membership, you earn the right to vote. You yourself will be able help shape the future of the entertainment you love. And together, we will fight to stick up for the rights of the millions of people who matter most in the entertainment business: the fans.

THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION: WHAT IS THE BUSINESS PLAN OF THE BUSINESS?

PHASE 0: 1 - 250 members: This is the 'testing water' phase. A portion of all membership fees during all phases will be added to our segregated general development fund. That will never change. With each dollar you share with the IFA, a reasonable portion will always going into that general fund, and the rest to help fund operations of the company. You will see the balance of our segregated general development fund on our homepage at all times.PHASE 1. 251 - 5,000 members: Initial operational monies will be used to create an online portal for the IFA, where members like you can login, see what projects are under consideration, and see how much money has been raised in each of the funds. Additional outreach begins to gain more members, and to start planting the seeds for contractual relationships with entertainment producers.PHASE 2. 5,001 - 25,000 members: During phase two, initial part-time staff will be brought onto the team to help gather momentum and create a larger marketing presence across the globe. The IFA project contract will be created. Voting features will be added to the online portal, as well as an online forum for IFA members to discuss all of the various projects across the globe. IFA will begin tracking how many fans of each particular project there is worldwide, and if necessary, begin creating segregated production funds for each project that gains a large enough fan base.PHASE 3: 25,001 - 100,000 members: Global expansion will begin by creating local IFA leadership and IFA membership groups around the world. Members will begin to reap rewards from their membership. The first projects under IFA support will gain some financing, and fans worldwide will begin to see the fruits of their investment and participation.PHASE 4: 100,001 - 10,000,000+ members: Credibility is firmly being established for International Fan Alliance and its worldwide collection of power players, i.e. the fans. The positive effects and influence of the IFA is seen far and wide, across many entertainment domains. The fans finally rejoice knowing their voice finally matters. More importantly, entertainment fans worldwide can confidently invest their time and money consuming their favorite projects knowing that if affiliated with IFA, such projects will be finished, with proper endings (reshot/rewritten if necessary), with no disappointing mid-series cancellations, and proper due attention given to the people who actually make them rich and famous: us, the fans. And yes, this applies to all entertainment, from sports and books, to music and video games. If it's entertainment, we'll have it covered.Shall we get started?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is your mission? To provide a collective and powerful voice to fans worldwide. What is the segregated general fund? This is a fund through which the IFA will wield its power. Membership fees will help to fund this segregated general fund, and these monies will not be used to finance the operations of the company except in emergency situations. Other segregated funds may be created and earmarked for specific projects that the IFA supports. At management discretion, monies may be transferred between funds to help fulfill the mission of the IFA.Are the segregated funds transparent? Yes, we share the current dollar value of all funds on our website. We endeavor to update the value(s) at least monthly. When can monies be utilized from the fund, and under whose authority? Only by a majority vote of the board of directors may funds be withdrawn from the fund, and the board must accept the free vote of the IFA members when limited funds can only be applied to a limited number of projects.** Can members recommend projects for consideration?** Yes, at any time. The project must already have a substantial fan base to be considered. Can I give more than $10 to IFA? Yes, but each individual person will always only have one vote. We also offer various higher levels of membership for your consideration. Can a company become a member? No, only individuals.Does IFA guarantee that it will succeed in its mission to save, reshoot, and/or otherwise influence projects? No. We can only guarantee that management, with the strength of a unified voice and a fund of money from many fans, will be able to encourage positive changes within the industry. What happens to the money in the fund if not able to be used for its intended purpose and the company decides to change course or shut down? In this situation, management would jointly determine what the best use of funds is, taking into account that none of the funds may be used to benefit a private individual, a group of individuals, or a for profit organization. The funds in such a situation would likely be given to not-for-profit organizations. Is the IFA a charity? No, a charity is a 501c3 organization. We are a 501c4 (pending) social welfare organization. We are not for profit, and tax exempt. Is anyone paid at the IFA? Yes, the IFA is a business, and a business needs paid staff to operate efficiently. Management and staff (like any organization) will be paid from membership income. No more than 50% of gross income will be paid to staff initially, and as the IFA grows, the staff will receive a smaller and smaller percentage. How many members must sign on until the fund reaches $250,000? It's difficult to determine precisely how many members will be needed to reach this milestone, because as we grow, we will be hiring staff to help manage the operational aspects of the IFA. However, as a rough estimate, you can expect that somewhere between 30,000 and 60,000 members will result in at least $250,000 in the segregated fund. That's a lot of people, but when you think of how many entertainments fans there are in the world, this is a very real possibility. Our membership numbers could eventually be in the multi millions. How do members pay for their membership fees? Initially, through PayPal or Stripe. Eventually, members will be able to pay through an online membership portal. How do members vote? Initially, there will be no voting. The target is to first raise at least $250,000 into the general fund. Once there is enough money and enough members to start making a difference, members will begin voting via a secure voting portal created and/or setup and managed by IFA.Can I get a refund? We do not offer refunds because it would defeat the purpose of what we are trying to do if members could simply withdraw their membership fees whenever they wanted. This could take a long time before it takes off. Why invest in such a long shot? Back in the 90's, a company was formed called CompTIA. They offered computer expertise certification. People laughed at them, asking, "Why would anyone care about a certification from a no-name brand?" Well, 30 years later, and that no-name brand is the go-to certification for those in the tech industry. Similarly, that's how things could play out with the IFA. Initially, we have zero clout. But year after year, what we are doing could grow into a global movement that would be impossible to ignore. That is our mission. How can I keep up to date on what's happening? We will send out a newsletter via email keeping you up to date. You can also write to us at any time: info@fanalliance.org with any questions and we will be happy to help you out with more information. At the end of Phase 1, we will launch our online membership portal.

You may then give additional money towards a specific project for which we already have a separate fund created. Is the money I contribute tax deductible? No, as a 501c4 (pending) social welfare organization, we are tax exempt, but contributions are not tax deductible. Can I invest in some of the projects and earn a financial return or a role in the production? Since we are a 501c4(pending), no individual may receive a % of profits or receive direct payment from profits in return for assisting. However, you may be able to lend the company money and you potentially could be repaid with interest. Further, you can reach out privately to the various projects' producers and see if you can invest directly. Is my membership a subscription? No, it is an annual membership of $10 per year. When you become a member, you acknowledge that your contribution is non refundable. You acknowledge that you may not use dispute procedures with your bank, Stripe, PayPal or other payment processors to dispute this membership charge. Is this legit? Yes. The IFA is a 501c4 (pending) Delaware corporation that must adhere to strict IRS laws and requirements. All monies are strictly accounted for, and while certain staff members will be paid for their services, none of the monies are used to privately inure any individual on staff or otherwise. Some well known other 501c4 organizations in the USA include AARP, NAACP, and NCAA. Each of these organizations represent the collective voice of its membership, as does the IFA for its membership. What will be the first projects the IFA rallies for or behind, and when does voting begin? We do not yet know. The first project(s) we support will be determined by reaching out to all members and gaining some feedback. Note that management may have to make some of these decisions if a particular project is more likely to succeed than another with IFA assistance. Can I formally join the IFA team as a staff member? We have various positions for volunteers, and eventually, paid staff. If you’d like to be a part of the IFA team, and help change the rules of the entertainment business, please reach out. When can members expect to see results? This is absolutely a long-term endeavor. Everything depends on how quickly we can amass enough members and enough money to gain both clout and influence. Do not join with the expectation that we will succeed in a matter of months or even years. This could take a long time to grow legs and develop a foundation of respect. If you like the concept, jump in with a lot of enthusiasm, but also a lot of patience. Can I purchase a lifetime membership? Yes, for a $325 flat fee, you can purchase a lifetime membership. This gives you lifetime access to any and all membership benefits. CAVEAT: you can be removed as a member (with no refund) if you violate the member code. Reach out to us if interested. Can I pay more to get more involved? Yes, for $5,000, you can purchase an annual gold membership. This will add you to our member advisory council and you will have greater influence on the operations of the company and its investments. For $75,000, you can purchase a lifetime gold membership and ensure a permanent seat on the member advisory counsel. CAVEAT: you can be removed from the council (with no refund) if you violate the advisory council code. Reach out to us if interested. Is there a set of rules for members? Yes. These rules of behavior (our member code) will be created by management and must be followed by all members. Violations may result in reprimand, penalty, or removal from/by the IFA.Who comprises the current board of directors? Keep scrolling. Can you share some examples of how this could work? Sure. We could eventually use our clout to have producers sign on to our IFA contract that requires producers to allocate enough money in the budget to shoot a finale should they desire to cancel the project. Those projects that are part of the IFA could potentially gain access to completion funds in the case of an emergency or in case of a cancellation by the studio. We could encourage a book author to speed up the writing of a novel by paying for some living expenses. We could revive a dead tv show by helping to fund some new episodes. We could get a musician to do one last concert. The possibilities are endless once we become a player on the field.
